I think there are some people who want to be the "cool" one with kids while pushing aside common sense, they usually push the envelope too far so kids think they are the fun adult. I think he tried to be cool grandpa.

I think "intent" is the main issue....and clearly the GF had no mal intent.

Intent would necessitate a murder charge. He was not charged with murder.

Actual intent would put us in the murder category, and no one is suggesting that. But there's a good case to be made for negligence.

Too bad they brought in lawyers and started trying to pin the blame on the cruise line for having windows that open.

Either they were looking for a payday, or they didn't have good sense.

Now they have lost their little girl and have a legal battle ahead.

So you’re implying that the government of Puerto Rico is acting as an attack dog for a cruise line company??? What evidence do you have to make such an accusation of corruption?

Absolutely agree. I think he knew or certainly should have known that the window was open, and I think he was holding her up to show her the view. It is tragic that this happened and I know the family has suffered tremendously, but the grandfather should be held legally accountable. No one in his or her right mind believes the man committed intentional murder and should spend the rest of his life behind bars, but I think a light jail sentence would be appropriate. Sad situation all around.

Anyone think the (blurred out obviously of the child) video will be made public eventually?

I can't decide.

No, I am not implying that the government of Puerto Rico is acting as an attack dog for the cruise company.

I'm implying just what I stated. They tried to pin their negligence on the cruise line.

Now instead of a payday, they are going to paying for lawyers.

If they had just grieved and gone on, perhaps that would have been it. Who knows?

But since they've gone public with how there has to be blamed assigned, blame was assigned.

To the person who is to blame for this. The GF that put a little girl up to an open window 11 stories up.
