This is an interesting story due to the timing of when the carjacking suspect was killed. I think if he had been killed as he was still driving the car with the three kids, or as he was being pulled out of the car, then the killer(s) would face no charges.
As it is, the carjacker was pulled out of the car, he ran away and the killers chased after him and beat him so badly he died. The articles I read stated that authorities are weighing whether to press charges.
The thing is that if they do press charges, I doubt any jury is going to convict a father for killing a guy who just stole his car with his three kids in it.
Can’t say I feel bad about the car thief being beaten to death but why do people leave their cars running with their kids inside, especially in north Philadelphia.
I was thinking the same thing. Unless they were there when the dad started the chase, it sounds like they joined in on the beating for no good reason.
The article I read (not sure if it's the same one as I linked) said the car got stuck in traffic only a half block from the pizza place where the carjacking took place. The father of the kids worked in the pizza place. So it would not surprise me if the dad and a few of his work buddies ran from the pizza place as soon as the carjacking took place. A half block takes what, maybe less than one minute to run?
I'm just thinking it was a shame that the woman who stole a car with the owner's dog inside, then left the dog to die in the heat, couldn't have experienced a similar beatdown.

Doesn't sound like they plan to press any charges, I'm sure it will be forgotten good riddance to scum like that.
