And he smashed into a Lexus? Where do these people live? How does a teenager get his own Lamborghini? A 30-year-old receptionist with a Lexus, and a 17-yr-old with a Lamborghini? Is this normal for LA?
Yes.
Most 30-year-old in LA owns a Lexus. And most high schoolers have a Lambo.
First, a new Lexus can be had for under $40k. That's not that unusual for a thirty-year-old, especially in a place with relatively high incomes (like LA). And it could have been a used Lexus.
Second, there are 3+ million people in LA. Every major metro areas is going to have a few such spoiled kids. Larger ones (and LA is the second-largest metro in the country) will have more. Toss in the money (and the fact that such vehicles can be more readily enjoyed in southern California than it places like New York or Chicago) and there will be a few more.
Third, the reason that this is a story is that 'Lamborghini' makes for a catchy headline. Why do people think that a story, designed to drive clicks and thus revenues, is somehow a representative sampling of reality?

Those cars aren’t as much as you think used. You can buy a used Lexus for under 10k and a used Lamborghini for as little as 70k.

The Lexus could have been leased, could have been Mom's old car, or she could have the money to buy a nice Lexus. Being a receptionist doesn't mean she was poor.
Also, the Lamborghini Urus has only been in production since 2018. I'd hate to think the value could crash from +200k to 70k that quickly. Despite the "news" article saying the car was his, it may in fact have have been Dad's. Remember yesterday when the "news" said Tiger Woods was freed using the Jaws of Life? He was actually extricated via the windshield by the use of a plain old fire ax.

Yes normal for LA. Lambos are driven by a lot of young immigrant men from a certain part of the world with lots of oil money. If the lady was decent looking, she would be in a nice car. You never see a good looking lady in a non luxury car in LA. A LA unicorn...
Maybe 120 km? That would be 74 mph, not nearly as outrageous to read about.
But enough to kill someone.
There's just so little info on it and the primary sources seem to be UK tabloids, so I find that odd. Lots of articles on the woman's death but I haven't read any statement by cops or anything confirming the speed. From everything I have read about heavy L.A. traffic, it seems almost impossible to have enough space to get to 120 at 7am, rush hour. I hope there will be more info.
