‘Gotta get off this plane’: JetBlue passengers plead with crew after aborted landings at JFK

JetBlue Passengers Beg To Be Let Off The Plane:

The experience sounds terrifying.

Quote:
The airline reportedly offered passengers $50 in flight credits for the inconvenience.
I'm not a litigious person, but in this case I would definitely sue.

I'm not sure about this one... Of course, it sucks, and I'd want to get off too, and yes, I'd be upset... But what exactly is the crew supposed to do? Yelling at them won't solve anything.

Why can't they be let off the plane? Apparently the passengers went through a harrowing experience. Let 'em leave.

How does the airline keep them onboard against their will without that being a crime?

The article said that there was no Customs processing available at Newark, hence having to go back to JFK.

How would they "be let off the plane?" Land at some random airstrip without going through customs?

They could have let them off the plane until customs was able to get there.

THIS^.

Passengers preferred to be arrested and jailed? Fainting? Throwing up? Those passengers were treated with a callous indifference. That's just wrong. Last I knew it is illegal to hold anyone against their will. When did that change?

... They would still have to be "held against their will" wherever they landed. Which is what happened at Newark. They couldn't just leave when they landed. This wasn't come domestic flight.

How do "customs get there?" Bring in all of their equipment and computer software, and process everyone at a random airstrip? How long would THAT take? Where would they be coming from?

And "get off the plane" and go where?

Frankly that isnt mine, yours or the passengers problems. The airline should be the one taking care of it. The plane landed at Newark International Airport. Are you telling me that they dont have customs agents there?

As for where to go, keep them in the lounge area, what would be wrong with that?
