I don't believe marijuana is evil and would probably partake if it were fully legalized however, what this bride and caterer did was WRONG!!!
Would it have been okay to spike the punch and not tell anyone? Is there a possibility that this could interact negatively with someones medications? Obviously there were some bad reactions anyway.
Not cool to subject people to something without their knowledge.

I certainly don't believe marijuana is evil. However giving it to someone without their knowledge or consent is pretty evil. Certainly criminal at the very least.
If I smoke pot, everything is mellow, everything is fun. However, if I do edibles, it's not fun. I have yet to have a pleasant experience with edibles. I don't know why that is.

Many people do not recognize the damage done, by the many many years of drilling it into us, that Marijuana is BAD, evil, etc! They warned us in our high school DARE classes that Marijuana was the most deadly and dangerous drug out there (worse than heroin or cocaine even), they warned just using it one time could cause insanity, killing rampages, going out of our minds!! (and this was the early 1990s!)
I still remember our DARE instructors giving many examples of people that are now crazy or in prison, thanks to Marijuana, (just like they do today with opioids) LOL
This is 2022 now, (not 1422)

None of that matters in this case. Drugging someone's food or drink without their knowledge or consent is patently wrong even if it's only marijuana. I also have known people to have adverse reactions to certain strains of the drug (and are fine with others).
In the past, I have worked jobs where random drug testing occurs and/or is mandated after an accident at work. I'd be royally pissed if it cost me my job if I tested positive for m.j. after attending a wedding reception where it was slipped into food or drink that I'd consumed.

Edibles are stronger and weed today is a whole lot stronger than in the 70's.
Sativa is more of an upper and Indica is a downer as far as weed goes. Correct me if I am wrong.
Then there is the Hybrid weed.
Weed is also good to make Canna butter for cooking.

They were idiots for spiking there wedding reception food. Bad Karma Man.
Did they expect their guests, many of whom apparently weren't used to this drug at all, were going to be able to drive themselves home safely after the reception? Who's picking up the bills for the people who needed medical attention?
I can't understand why it took TWO MONTHS to arrest the bride and caterer.
