From the Go Fund Me that one of the parents conveniently set up for the women shortly after the incident:

That morning they video chatted us from the beach they were having a drink and enjoying themselves, but they seemed off. I thought it was probably just the connection or me. Barely an hour later I received the most horrifying text of my life,”Call us now we’ve been drugged and raped.”
They were drugged to the extent that they lost conciousness yet they were up and texting barely an hour later? Drugs that are used for this purpose typically last much longer than under an hour.
There’s no evidence yet that they lied at all. Alcohol can stay in your blood for 12 hours. How long afterward were they tested? And the nurse practitioner was convinced they were drugged, not drunk, and verified the bruising that wasn’t there when they got on the boat for the excursion.
I don’t know how the nurse would know they were drugged, not drunk. Only a toxicology can determine that. She may be the world’s best nurse, but she doesn’t know what is in their bloodstream just by seeing them.
As for her verifying that the bruises were not there when they boarded the ship, come on. She was that close to them, checking out their legs? Instead of talking with her friends or family or playing on her phone or taking photos? I don’t check out other women’s legs. And the bruising wasn’t that vivid that it woukd grab her attention..
They were not drunk. I posted a link showing they had zero alcohol in their system when they were blood tested. What they had in their system was opiates and benzodiazapenes (like Xanax). Which corroberates their claim thet were drugged.
Again, they only refused to go to the hospital (where the rape kit would be administered) because the cruise ship told them they couldn't wait for them. Then they are stuck there with no passports, and having to arrange/pay for their own way home.
What they are angry with Carnival about, was failing to report the new warnings issued by the State Department about sex crimes in the Bahamas. Of course they stand to benefit by casting doubt on their story, it makes Carnival look bad. As well as the Bahamas.
Even if they were drunk at 10am. so what? That was the purpose of the excursion, of vacation. Lots of people drink to excess on vacation. It doesn't make rape less of a crime.
But..how many sex crimes are being committed in the Bahamas? If it is an occasional thing, would the cruise lines warn? There are crimes committed in every locality, including the US, but the police dint warn you not to go outside. Kaiser in California did warn their employees not to go out for lunch due to neighborhood crime and got accused of being racist.

They were passengers on a small boat with about a dozen people going to the beach excursion. It would be easy to notice.
The GoFundMe thing also rubs me the wrong way. Something is not adding up, but not many new details as far as I can see online (except for the nurse practitioner's statements).

This may not look good for Carnival, but they knew. They've known for some time. I was on a cruise back in 2016 (which did not go to the Bahamas) and while on the cruise I took a behind-the-scenes tour of the ship. In the crew area (i.e. an area where passengers don't normally go) there was a notice posted on the wall warning about crime in Nassau. The warning specifically mentioned sexual assaults.
Granted, this incident occurred in a different part of the Bahamas, not Nassau. But even so, crime has been an on-going issue there for quite some time. Which is why, when I took a cruise last year that did stop in Nassau, we remained aboard the ship.

How many cruise passengers, disembarking in the Bahamas for a day excursion, would you suspect have been sexually assaulted in an upscale resort on the Bahamas, or really any tropical paradise where Cruise ships dock? I would say VERY, very few.
