I think the big battery drain is the phone's GPS and bluetooth/ANT+ connection to your sensors. I'd be kind of freaky about my phone falling onto the asphalt. That's why I have a dedicated Garmin. Battery is good enough for a slow century ride, however it gets mighty low near the end of the ride.
