...for now. Today is our last day here in our home and not sure when the old comp will be packed away......so please keep this fun little place to meet going for me until I arrive in NC. I'm not sure when it will be but I'm thinking at least a week by the time we get settled in and I'm up and running. I will be here today and I'll check in along the way. Autumngal and NCN? See y'all soon! And Judi? I expect to see you in NC soon after. Coffee with sugar in the raw and soymilk... ...see you all soon! jeannie

Good morning all. Jeannie, I can't believe it finally happened. Hope you get here before Fay. Maybe you will bring us luck. We need the water. You will be able to see where to buy and where not to buy. Look to see where the puddles are. The first house we purchased in Charlotte had a little creek out back that turned into a river in our back yard every time we had more than an inch of rain. That is why I caution everybody to look at the topography when you purchase a home in the South. We get big rains sometimes.
I noticed a for sale sign down the street. As we get old these big lots get more and more hard to take care of. He is selling 3 1/2 acres with a barn and garage not to mention the attached double garage. I really hate to see these people go. We have been friends since our children were in third grade and our children are both about 36 now. Judi, the price of the place is similar to the price of yours up there. It is about 50 thousand under what I would think it should be. I guess the market is really down.
I remember the first time I went into this home. The daughter had her room decorated with riding medals. They were side to side circling her entire room and every different color you could think of. She lived horses for years. Sorry, I am probably in a Jeannie mood right now. A home has a lot of memories.
I guess for someone it is, I found it on photobucket. Thought it was appropriate. Going to be tough without my computer. NCN, we still haven't found a place to rent so looks like we're headed down and then look for a place. We just hope to get the kids in school no later than the 2nd week of school.

Jeannie, good news for you. Fay is expected to go West. We have had several calls today from our friends in Florida. They are all doing O. K. We have had thunder storms with winds that bad, but a hurricane lasts longer than a thunder storm.
I made chicken fried rice for lunch.
Chicken dog and chili for dinner.
