Your right. Pretty much all the outer fringes of Fort Worth except for the east. I guess most Texas metros are country in their outer areas. Dallas proper however has long been surrounded by other cities and it's hard to find that country feel in the city.

Im sure there are some parts of the Dallas/Fort Worth area that may look and feel country but as for the cities themselves, nope, I dont see how you can be country and drive on packed interstates, have huge skyscrapers, every imaginable store and big city attractions, and live among 6 million people, that is not country to me.

country is living in a small farm town.

I might also add that the only people I have ever heard say that Dallas was more country that Houston are black. Ive never heard anyone of another race have that opinion. I dont know why that is.

I have not either. And given my background, something as massive of an influence as Country would stick out like a sore thumb to me or my family lol.

Personally I have not felt Austin, Dallas, Houston, Corpus Christi, El Paso, or San Antonio to be country. Fort Worth sort of, but not really. Hard to explain they have their own unique vibe.

neither city is country. They are both large, diversified, cosmopolitan cities just like Los Angeles, Chic, Atlanta< Miami, NYC, etc. Well not quite like those, every city has a personality, but country doesn't fit Dallas.

I don't remember Dallas ever feeling "country". Even in the early 70's when we moved out of the city, to Duncanville, it didn't seem country to me. It just felt like any other suburban town. Yeah, there was a small group of FFA kids, but not much. I do think if you go further south, to some of the more outter burbs, such as Red Oak you still get the country feel. (I was there last week, and yeah it is still country) but really the Dallas area does not seem even remotely "country".
