The real number of fans alone was about 91,000

Turns out the 100,000+ number they were previously using was counting those involved such as stadium workers, teams, coaches, referees, etc.

This is according to WFAA's noon news report released today.

Not surpised at all. Didn't they get to count the people standing out in the plaza watching it on TV?

Dallasnews.com released the story yesterday.

Cowboys Stadium Super Bowl may have missed attendance record by thousands more than thought | Super Bowl XLV News - Sports News for Dallas, Texas - SportsDayDFW

No doubt, Jerrah would've loved the feather in his cap by claiming a Super Bowl attendence record at Cowboys Stadium. But, as it mentions in the above article, the NFL doesn't even officially track SB attendence records.

Overly exagerated Matt? Somewhat of a redundancy, huh.

Well they can't use weather as an excuse on this one.

If employees and other workers weren’t counted in the Super Bowl XLV tally, Cowboys Stadium never would have been in the running for a record.

“It’s just a matter of looking at all the attendances and saying that’s a record,” Aiello said.

“The record will enter paid attendance of 91,060,” Aiello said of the game at Cowboys Stadium. “That’s what will go on our book.”
