Is this going to be a nightmare or just a moderate inconvenience? With a projected 5 year time frame to build the underground toll part of 635 and the rest of the project, this could be a LONG 5 years for those that commute along LBJ. Hope the redirections of traffic will be well thought out, but I doubt it.

Traffic has already become more of a nightmare with the closure of the HOV lane. Cannot wait to move!

Nightmare. Absolute nightmare. 635 was bad without the construction and it had an HOV. Now, eliminate the HOV (those cars forced to use the main lanes now), add in the narrowing of some lanes, elimination of emergency lanes, and those annoying little curves they do when these freeways go under construction.

Good luck if you have to use it.

Traffic on SB 75 is heavier this week than it normally is going through the high five at 7-7:15 am. I can't think of any reason other than the lane closures.

This is going to SUCK. And those new toll lanes are going to be hella expensive.

Construction tie-ups will be a nightmare, the toll lanes will be exorbitantly expensive during rush hour ($1 or more per mile), and the free lanes will be functionally obsolete within 5 years of the highway's opening.

This is all news to me.......I go from 35 to Marsh or Midway.....maybe I should just go north to beltline and skip 635 completely?

I try not to get on 635 anyway. There is always an accident or some other tie-up on it. Every time I see a sign that reads END CONSTRUCTION, I say "I'm for that".
