How safe is downtown Dallas? Especilaly late at night

The chance of something happening (mugging or worse) is small, but a posibility from 1-5am. Are you so cheap/lazy as to not get there earlier or pay $5-10 more to not have to roll the dice with your safety?

The garage get full on Friday and stays full rest of weekend. I am going home on Friday night and coming back for Saturday. I will admit me getting any place earlier is unusual, I prefer to wake up late since I will up late till 2 am. If I get up at 6/7 am, I will be dead tired at 7pm and won't make till 12 or 1 am.

Maybe, I can find more ppl leaving at the same time.

There's some club there on Pearl just north of the Sheraton across from the Marriot Center Center at Plaza of the Americas. Not sure how it is but I have seen the line. Maybe some drunks might be coming out of there at 2....probably not going to cause much trouble when everyone in the hotel can see them...

I've been to several events at the Sheraton over many years (our high school prom was there way back when!) and have never had a problem. However I usually park in their garage or ride with somebody who does. Usually events are in the annex across the street from the main hotel - have just walked back and forth.

I drive through there a lot of times and really don't see much in the way of any shady characters. Have seen a couple of weirdos by the DART bus station there, but then again weirdos are of interest to me!

That's Club Joyce, it's kind of lame. The car park next to it is probably the OP's best bet if he really can't get garage or valet parking.
