A pilot has been suspended after broadcasting a slur-filled rant about flight attendants over an air-traffic control frequency that stopped controllers from contacting other aircraft.

‘It was a continuous stream of gays, grannies and grandes,’ the pilot said.

Grande is someone on the plump/large side.
And no he wasn't fired, as he reportedly attended some "sensitivity training" and has already been reinstated to his job.

He is not fired. Technically, he broke no contract. He was having what he thought was a private conversation. What he said was horrible, but the company would have no legal reason to fire him. It sucks.

I guess he is based out of Houston. Chances are I have been on a plane while he was flying. I do lots of flights in and out of Houston. Its true that southwest has lots of guys and ugly women as flight attendants. Occasionally I get a nice looking one though.

Apparently one of his career goals is to bang the good looking chicks and get drunk in Chicago.

Sounds like his co-workers need to take him to one of those Chicago bars and get him really looped and let him wake up with one of the pretty boys, or two. Maybe mix up some coffee creamer in a condom or three. On the flight home, the Stewards can accidentally leave the galley mic on and do some girl talk.

I bet lots of the pilots hook up with flight attendants. They all stay in the same hotels every night. Wouldnt be that crazy for them to get drunk and have sex.

He may not be fired but believe me his idenity will get around Southwest faster than one of their planes can fly from Phoenix to Los Angeles. I worked for Delta Airlines and employees talk as can be imagined. It will take alot of professionalism by Southwest Flt Attendants, to work the same flight with this pilot. Im sure it will all work out and all of this will somewhat fade away as it should.

This pilot sounds like a real jerk. He is not someone I would want to spend a flt working with. Someone that behaves like that at work most likely is going to display other very undesirable traits. That is not someone I would want to work with at 30000 feet, dispite how well he flew the plane or his qualifications for the job. However like I said it will take professionalism on the employees part, as well as this pilot but in the end things will work out. We don't need anymore unemployed people just more respectful ones.
