Isn't El Centro in Dallas? I am attending a 2 year because my first year at my 4 year was about $25,000 too much in costs...haha.
Is there any reason you chose El Centro over some of the other community colleges? I don't really know anything about them, so you might have a really good reason. However, if you can choose another campus further out, you might have an easier time finding something safe and cheap.

El Centro has my program and most amount of classes for my major located at it.

I don't mind a 30 minute commute.

You said Uni and attending University using British terminology. And there are no universities in downtown Dallas. There is a community college which is completely different from the notion of Going to UNI. For that price, you are better off going to Richland. But u will still have trouble finding a decent apartment without a roommate. If u live by Dart, you can take the train to downtown.

Here's a couple in the Addison/Carrollton area. Not a bad area and you could take the DART from Carrollton in to El Centro, should be about 30 minutes, but the place in Lakewood/Junius Hts is closest:

Thanks for the suggestions. I see a lot of apartment search assistance sites...are these legit?
