Hello,

There is a possibility that I accept a position to work in Mexico. I currently live in Dallas-FW, and I was wondering if someone has experienced commuting from Guadalajara or Mexico City to Dallas (flying during the weekends), since it's likely that my family will continue to live in US (I have kids in High and Middle school).

Any thoughts would be more than appreciated.

Thank you

I would have to be making a ton of money to do that.

There's 3 flights a day from DFW to Guadalajara. The flight lasts 2 hours. Its no worse than commuting to Chicago for work.

I am doing it, only to and from Monterrey. If you are already travelling significantly, it's not a big deal. Negotiate your work week as Monday-Thursday, with probably one week every two months being able to work remotely from home. It's all dependent on the kind of Team that you have. If they are the kind that need to be baby-sitted every day, it could be an uphill battle. Good luck with your decision!

I have a buddy's girlfriend that's in medical school in Guadalajara and they drove there from DFW and have never made the drive to/from again. They say it was terrible and dangerous. I guess she'll have to make the drive or pay someone to transport her car when she graduates.
