Hey, all! You always hear debates about which team is the most popular in NYC Metro (Notre Dame, Rutgers, Syracuse, Penn State, etc.) and Chicagoland (Illinois, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Other Big Ten, etc.), but you never hear much or see many articles about the DFW Area. So, I was wondering if this poll could give me an idea of who is the most popular NCAA team in the Dallas Area. Thanks in advance!

P.S. If there have been any newspaper polls or someone would like to give his or her opinion of what the breakdown is, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks! Schools I considered:

Take a wild guess who I voted for

There are quite a few Sooners in the metro area, though. Sometimes you'll find OU Merchandise, but no A&M or Tech merchandise in a store!

UT, Tech, and OU are all represented pretty well. TCU and A&M I would guess are second tier in fan support. Houston seems to be more of an A&M town than DFW. Too bad Dallas doesn't get behind SMU more. But I imagine that will come if they consistenly win more just like winning has helped TCU.

Really? I've never been there or anything, but I always thought of it as a two horse race between UT and A&M, with TTU being next just because of sheer numbers, lots of locals jumping on the TCU bandwagon and small but feisty fan bases for OU, Baylor, etc. I would have guessed the percentages to be like:

28% UT
23% A&M
11% TTU
7% TCU
7% OU
5% Baylor
4% SMU
18% Other

Fun to hear the locals' thoughts, because it seems I was a bit off!! Thanks again for the responses and votes.

It is definitely dominated by Texas.

Next, OU and Texas Tech

But if you were to ask in Fort Worth, I'd bet the responses would be mostly for TCU. It appears TCU and Texas support there is fairly equal...

I wouldn't say there is a lack of Aggie support in Dallas/Fort Worth, there is plenty. I just typically see more from OU. For instance, I work with 3 OU grads in my office and zero A&M grads. Remember, Dallas is almost exactly halfway between OU and UT's campuses, one reason why the game is played here anually. A&M has a much bigger presence in Houston probably because of its closer proximity.

I see more Texas car stickers than any other.

Hard to tell between TTU, OU and A&M for #2, so I say they're all relatively close to each other behind Texas.
