Read what the pundits are saying about Indy:

Sports World Heaps Praise On Indianapolis Super Bowl - Indiana News Story - WRTV Indianapolis

It seems they did a wonderful job of hosting the Superbowl and will now be put into the rotation.

So my question is do you think Dallas will ever get a chance to host another Superbowl or do you think the opportunity was blown by last year's fiasco?

Everything I've read said that DFW will host again. The ice storm was a fluke. Heck I played golf twice this past week, in shorts.

Dallas-Ft Worth-Arlington have way too much going for it to not get the opportunity.

Dallas will host another Super Bowl due to the stadium. But I would hope that the NFL would make some demands about not having events so spread out. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

I was wondering about how they choose Super Bowl cities/venues and know that certain places have hosted the SB multiple times. Would be great to have see it again in the Metroplex!

But it seems Indy is a more compact city like New Orleans and people tend to prefer that. They can walk from their hotel to bars and then onto the stadium.

Do you think it's possible they could create a mini Superbowl village in Arlington to kind of give the same effect to tourists? The problem is even if people are walking around downtown FW or Dallas, they still have to drive an hour plus to just get to Jerry's World for the game.

I think the DFW area dropped the ball by putting the stadium in Arlington.

DFW will host another Superbowl - we are in the running for 51-55 years.

They choose the superbowl with Cities that offer the NFL information about the area and votes from the team owners. for instance Dallas made a presentation to the NFL about Arlington- The Cowboys - The stadium - and the surrounding area. The NFL sent people down here shortly after the stadium opne. they travel to Fort Worth, Arlington and Dallas. The host city (being the cities they visted) showed the NFL people what those cities can offer to the event. The NFL staff then meet with each police force and city operators and asked them how they would plan to accommodate the heavy follow of travels into the area? If all requirements are met to the NFL standards the city that offered to host gets placed a year to host. Then the city and the surrounding areas have to make any improvements that the NFL requires at the city & tax payers cost. But in the end the city and the surrounding area's get the revenue of the travelers coming to the Metroplex. It's no secert the Superbowl has been played in area's with bad weather. DFW was not the only one. We just got the worst weather ever when Superbowl was here. We have several years to perpare for a future Superbowl. And hope the NFL gives us a date to shoot for in the coming years.

The City of Dallas drop the ball with not allowing the stadium in Dallas. Arlington jumped on the chance- and here we are. The "Dallas" Cowboys are in Arlington. Dumb Dallas- thanks to the old Mayor and the council-

Thank you Laura Miller for booting the Boys outta any chance to come to town. Really wise move when you could have reinvigorated Fair Park and downtown and Deep Ellum.

I agree. But the bottom line - I think Jerry really didn't want to do it in Dallas anyway, since it looked like Fair Park would have been the preferred site. The fight with Laura Miller was overhyped a bit IMHO. Arlington makes sense location-wise and he knew they'd do anything to get the stadium.
