I have done military training and handle guns fine, just don't believe in carrying one. Moderator cut: Off topic

3. I was raised on ranches and farms. Guns are tools useful for - varmint control (hogs, coyotes, jack rabbits, armadillos, prairie dogs etc.) putting an old horse out of his misery, driving wild dogs away, killing snakes, hunting the list is long. I've used guns for all of the above. Moderator cut: Useless commentary

This thread is about what you carry in DFW, not on Montana ranches or Chicago slums.

Keep it On Topic folks.

What do you guys carry? How do you carry it? In DFW.

Good grief.

I carry a Kimber UCP II (compact and light .45ACP) most days. If I'm headed out to the ranch I'll carry my Glock 19 for extra fire-power and it's a beater.

Some people may be surprised to know that Tarrant, Collin and Dallas counties sport active ranches.

ETA - If it's hot I'll carry in a Maxpedition bag or back pack. When cooler I have a couple of Mitch Rosen micro-holsters that I like a lot. I have an old school shoulder rig, like detectives wear on TV that I use at my office a lot. Sometimes if it's blazing hot I'll leave my gun in the car.

If I had to carry in hot weather I'd probably choose a Sig .380 semi auto loaded with hollow points, or a Kahr PM9 or something.... I'm a skinny guy so a pistol that is thin, light, and not too bulky would work best for me.

My wife likes the Sig .380 as well, and they make them in female friendly colors.

I don't have a CHL but I do have a .380 for close encounters. It's black, though. Not a "female friendly" color, whatever that is.

German made (not S&W) Walther PPK/S in .380. I bought it for Desert Storm and have had it ever since. It hits whatever I point it at.

Sorry...I should have said girly colors. I've seen these sig 380s in pink, desert sand, and the burnt titanium finish (looks kinda like a rainbowish stainless steel), definitely girl colors.

I'll stick with a plain black finish on mine...

I have Chls from FL, ME, CT, and NH.... Should cover me in TX and a bunch of other states as well..
