I remember that old building, it broke my heart when I heard it had been torn down.

It is quite the crossroads, with traffic headaches to match!

Even though the most expensive stores are supposed to be in North dallas, I feel like where I live in the Village has to be near the top for expensive stores. Tom Thumb and Central Market are right around the corner, and whole foods less than a mile away. Wal Mart is significantly cheaper, but its a super store with bad parking and the food/household products on opposite ends of the store. My favorite low cost store servicing the area-Super Target on Abrams-is the furthest away.

I shop at Albertsons. Krogers, Aldi,Tom Thumb,Central Market and Sprouts. I also shop at Fiesta. Dollar Store for soap and tp and paper towels. I usually try to just buy what is on special or a good price.

Krogers at Greenville and Mockingbird is a pretty nice store. I like the meats, frozen food and some produce/ The Kroger Senior card also gives 10% off on Kroger brands.

I like Albertsons for beef and specials and I use their pharmacy at Mockingbird and Abrams Tom Thumb has good meats and some specials bt mostly good quality. I use the Tom Thumb at Mockingbird and Abrams NW Corner.

I love Fiesta for spices and produce and a lot of Mexican Food at good prices. Sprouts for Vegetables and some specials.

Aldis has really good prices. I probably buy most of my basic stock items there. Because almost every thing there is Generic I usually try it once before I decide if I will continue. Their dog food is very good and great prices. They are at Abrams and NW Highway.

Sprouts on Ross is always a treat and I buy a lot of produce and some specials.

The Fiesta off of Lancaster Rd and Kiest Blvd doesn't have a lot of Hispanic food selections because the majority of the customers are African-American. There's nothing in Spanish, like El Rancho. This Fiesta is more like a Minyard or Kroger.

No one has mentioned Market Street. Probably the nicest grocery store I have ever been in. Their prepared dinners at the deli are wonderful I live near the McKinney location, the first one to open in Collin County, now they are all over the northern burbs. Have any come in closer to Dallas? I understand they are based out of Lubbock.

The closest one I know of is at Park and Preston in Plano.

I actually went to the one in McKinney today to pick up an item that isn't available anywhere else in north Texas. It's an OK store; a bit overpriced.
