I know green line goes to the state fair but where would you recommend parking. I'm in W Plano, I could go towards Carrollton to the green line stations or head east to 75. Also, I would prefer to park at a station that doesn't require permits and less crowded if possible. Thanks

You can take the red line to Pearl Station and change trains there to the green line. The trains actually wait for a few minutes to allow people to do this. The PGBT station has lots of parking.

I second PGBT parking and take Red or Orange to Pearl Station, and then change to Green Line. Ride takes about 45 mins, has been fairly crowded the times I've ridden.

We took the Green line from N. Carrollton/Frankford station to the Fair on Sunday it was great. (here comes the thread jack)

We have tickets to the Mavs vs Lakers game on Nov 5th and were thinking of taking the DART train, does anyone know if the train has people on it for regular games or does it just see ridership for big events ie, Concerts, playoffs, WWE etc..? Reason I ask is many people say it's unsafe to ride the rail after dark, any thoughts? experiences?

There are LOTS of people on the trains for regular games. I've never heard anyone say that DART rail is unsafe after dark...

The only problem with DART to NBA games is that it cuts off at (imho) an early hour, so if you stay in Victory Park or downtown afterwards (that would have been a joke a few years ago-Dallas is growing well) for a drink or to hang with friends, you might miss the last train. I think the last train is around 12:30.

To be fair I haven't heard anyone say it's unsafe ( mostly people online)

I'll have to double check on route times etc.. don't want to arrive in train and leave in Taxi, thanks for the replies.

I've had a couple of friends got mugged on it on the later ones (like, night time), nothing too rough though, just at knife point.

Personally I always drive down to Mockingbird and park there, cause it limits the train time. My leather clad V8 Genesis is far more comfortable going back up to Plano in than the train is

One tip when leaving the fair. Take dart south one stop past the fair (there are 2 stops) get off and wait for a north bound train. At this point the train will be empty and you will have a seat.
