I am looking for a good pediatrician in the McKinney area. I need a doctor who has experience working with premature, iugr, sga kids. I had one in McKinney but I wasn't happy with her. Thanks!!

We go to Pediatric Healthcare Associates. We chose them mainly because they have a separate entrance in the back for infants/well visits vs the main entrance that sick kids can use, and they also have 6-7 Dr.'s practicing there so even if your particular Dr. is not available on short notice, one of the others is. Combined, they all have a ton of experience that couldn't be matched by any other office in our area. They have an X-ray machine on site as well which most pediatricians do not. I do not know how much experience they have with premature/sga kids, but you can set up an appointment to talk with them and find out.

That being said... their office staff/nurses haven't been great. We have considered finding a new pediatrician because of this, Dr. Vernier at McKinney Pediatrics is highly recommended by our neighbors, we thought we might give him a try in the next few months.

Lol that's where I was before. I've also heard of Stonebridge Pediatrics.

Heard good things about Children's Choice Pediatrics and Pediatric Healthcare Associates (Dr. Menchaca specializes in premature infants)

We visited Stonebridge Pediatrics during one of their meet and greet sessions with prospective families. We didn't end up staying for the whole thing, we didn't like the layout (they have a brand new building, but they didn't think about making separate sick and well entrances? You also have to go through the sick area to get to the well area inside.) They only had 4 Dr's there, and from the way they described their schedule, it seemed to us that that we'd be dealing with nurses far more than the Dr's there.

There were a few other things that we didn't think measured up to PHA, but I don't remember what they were now.

Yeah I liked pha alot but they totally screwed up stuff with my daughter that I felt was unacceptable. Now I'm driving sooo far just to see specialists who have experience with preemies. But I'm getting tired of the drive.

I'm open to allen as well!!

This is where we took my son when he was first born. We liked it and it had separate entrances for sick and well visits which was nice.
