My grandmother died nearly two weeks ago. I went to visit her in England, my home country, this summer and, suffering from terrible dementia, she didn't have a clue who I was. My mum and I were looking through old photographs of her, one of which was an old portrait picture taken of her when she was in her late twenties. It's an absolutley stunning photograph, and I think it'd be the perfect memorial piece to her, as I'm sure the beautiful woman she was is how she'd like to be remembered, not the bedridden frail old lady she was in her final months.

So, I'm in desperate need of a good tattoo artist who is capable of good black and white portrait work. I'm willing to travel just about anywhere in Texas, as I want this done really well. I've been doing some research, but none have really stood out to me yet. Do you have any suggestions?

Trilogy Tattoo in Oaklawn/Uptown has a very good reputation. I believe they are located on Cedar Springs. Trilogy is considered not just one of the best in Dallas, but in the one of the best in the south.

My condolences go out to you. My grandmother passed away in April, she suffered from dementia and was in poor health in her final months.

Her husband lives here and, I believe owns that shop. I think they both bounce between here and L.A. She is definitely one of the best portrait tattoo artists.

John Rhodes from Ink Shop Tattoos in Denton does some great portrait work! I have seen a lot of it in person! 90% of my work has come from that shop and I can't say enough good things about it.

kat's husband WAS oliver peck (elm st tattoo)

they are either seperated or divorced, so kat doesnt come around anymore.

potrait work takes a very special artist. be VERY picky and ask to see prior potrait work.

Ah, I wish it was still the case. She divorced from Oliver Peck, and now she just lives in LA with a new boyfriend... Oh! what you learn from LA Ink. Haha.

Thanks for all the tips, guys.
