There is a corner lot which we are interested in but read online that they don't have a good resale or tough to sell? The side of the lot is by a street which is not busy but it only has a wrought iron fence so you can see most of the backyard.

just wanted to get a feel of what the general population thinks about a corner lot/house.

Thanks

I grew up in one...I now own one. Long as the intersection isn't busy, it's not a big deal to me.

The majority of my neighborhood has wrought iron fences on the side yard. Most of the homes have put some kind of screening plants along there - my favorites being climber roses (but the entire perimeter of our neighborhood is in bloom with yellow and white climber roses on those wrought iron fences - and I LOVE it!). Many others have Caroline Jessamine. And then there are also shrubs that make nice privacy hedges.

As far as a corner lot, there's the con of having traffic on two sides of your lot, but there's also the trade off of not having to share a fence on that side either if that's the way fences are in that neighborhood.

Many times corner lots are larger, provide more sunshine and cost more money.

If you do your own yard work there is more sidewalk to trim.

Only deal killer for me as a buyer would be a super busy, noisy street. Otherwise- wouldn't bother me at all.

You can just use shrubs or climbers, looks nice and gives privacy. Neither lattice fence nor shrubs are going to minimize noise.

Actually the right combination of shrubs actually will reduce noise. We have friends with a wrought iron fence that backs up to a four lane road. Between the aforementioned gorgeous climber roses, and the variety of shrubs they've added, the noise is barely noticeable. On a side street, it would work even better.

Once Betsy upgrades to 6 lanes then backyards facing the road can be an issue, homeowners backing to Windheaven Pkwy just got this bad news.
