I'm relocating from the Houston area and will be working in Lewisville, TXright off of S. Edmonds Ln and near Central Park. I have two months to find adecent place to live. Unfortunately I did not realize how much more expensiveit is to live in that area compared to my rent now which is $565 and it's anice, quiet, decent apartment complex. It's seems like the average rent ratesstart at $700 which WAS my max for this move but now it's up to $750. I'mstressed about finding the right location/apartment complex and the price along with not knowing anything about the area. I would like to livewithin 20-30 minutes of my job (driving, not stuck in traffic lol). Forthe last 10 years I've been lucky enough to live in the opposite way of trafficwhen heading to work and would like to keep it that way Anyways, couldsomeone please give me some areas where I could

1.) Find "affordable" ($750 budget) and safe apartment, ideally a quiet apartment complex I keep to myself and will be living by myselffor the first time so I'm concerned about safety.

2.) Live within 20-30 minutes of my job but opposite way of heavy traffic.

I've consideredCoppell, Carrollton, and Grapevine possibly Irving.I would REALLY appreciate any info on these towns especially traffic wise. I'veheard traffic in DFW is worse than Houston so I'm not looking forward to that I'm on a time crunch but the last thing I want is to be miserable in anew town/city where I don't know anyone.

Look near your work in Lewisville. Coppell is out.

No reason to live in Irving rather than Lewisville. It's farther and not nicer. I'd rule it out. Coppell is probably out of your price range.

Flower Mound is about a 10-15 minute commute and is nicer/safer, but it may be out of your price range.

Grapevine is a maybe - it will be about a 20-25 minute commute. You will likely find more affordable apartments in Lewisville than in Grapevine though.

Thank you!! What about Carrollton? How bad would traffic be heading Northwest to Lewisville?

The Catalina has one-bedroom apartments in your budget and would be just a less than ten minute commute. Don't know about safety. It's controlled access.

It looks like I may end up living in Lewisville. I've always liked living in the next town or two away from my job but with this tight budget that's not going to be possible especially with gas and possible toll fees. Thanks!!

Some of the apt in Carrollton are pretty shady/scary. You can check out the brand spankin new Aura Castle Hills Apartment in far north carrollton off 121 and 544 but I am pretty sure that is above your price range. Realistically you should probaby stick with Vista Ridge area in Lewisville, there's actually somewhat of a nightlife there.

DO NOT LIVE IN THE APARTMENTS ON MUSTANG DRIVE IN GRAPEVINE.
I'm shouting because they are in your price range, and are a reasonable commute to Lewisville, so they might seem like a viable option. They are neither quiet nor safe.

Stick to Lewisville and keep your commute short.
