Hi - we'll need self-storage (not sure how big yet) but something relatively close to Camden Legacy Park on Preston Rd. It will, hopefully, only need to be for a few mos. while we're house shopping. Are they all about the same re: quality, price, etc?

There are several storage facilities close to 75024. Check with the closest ones and find out if they have the size and type of the locker you need, as well as prices. Also check on gate hours if you will need to access your belongings.

The right storage place depends on how you want to use the storage. For us, we were taking stuff straight from the moving truck into storage, but needed to take some personal items to our apartment. The employer paid for that, but our second move to the newly constructed townhome was our responsibility.

We found a storage facility about 1.5 miles from our apartment. The locker was a 15x25 with outside access. This cost less when we moved out, and gave us better opportunity to sort through our belongings, including seasonal decorations. However, the outside units aren't climate controlled, so some wax items melted, and we also got crickets in some of our boxes.

We had climate controlled storage for our seasonal items before we moved. That is very nice for preserving your stuff, but it will cost you big time if the distance from the truck to the locker is excessive.

If you don't need to get into your stuff, then you may be better off having the moving company store it.
