Oklahoma is a great place to be from but Texas is a whole other country. Work wise it's night and day. Texas fits my definition of progressive, that is great job and career opportunities. Make the move, deal with the change if you are up to a medium challenge . I was born and raised and schooled thru college in Oklahoma. I was not under educated fir the challenges a global career brought. Do yourself and kids a favor come on down

What did you decide to do? Did you move to Dallas and if so, how do you like it??

Somethings to consider -- as you select areas always be aware that the city a home is located in doesn't always correlate to the school district. So always be aware of the high school the house is zoned to and the feeder elementary and middle schools.

*try to find work in Irving/Las Colinas -- which is another tech pocket -- vs. Plano. You will then be able to consider homes in Lewisville ISD, Grapevine/Colleyville ISD, or Hurst/Euless/Bedford ISD they all will have more choices in your budget (up to $300K) and all have pockets of high performing schools.

*Or try to find work in Fort Worth and you'll have even more flexibility in your budget to reside in the Arlington Martin HS Attendance zone or Mansfield original Masfield HS attendance zone. Both attendance zones offer great housing options and schools that perform very well.

Honestly, just stay in Oklahoma and move to OKC. That's where quite a few of the middle class DFW folks who have gotten priced out of the area are starting to look and move to...
