I think a certain amount will fail, but overall there is a demand for new restaurants. Keep in mind all these corporate folks will have a company charge cards and lots of consultants will be traveling in/ out of these areas driving up the lunch rush.

When I lived in Addison there were a ton of restaurants that only did well during lunch (business people in for a quick expensive bite)

Several restaurants I really liked closed. The most recent - Latin Pig. I would always do a pick up, but the place seemed to be pretty well attended.

Please don't hate on me but I find Sprinkles overrated! We are getting Shake Shack at Preston Royal and I'm really looking forward to that since the only hamburger place we have there is McDonalds.

The first tenant list you posted was from 2015 and the majority of those retailers did NOT sign leases at Legacy West. I think it was a "wish list" that leaked.

The restaurant line up is good, but the retail is not that impressive. Way too much emphasis on high end menswear and not enough women's selections. I suspect there will be some fairly quick turnover in the apparel spaces until they get they mix right.

Me, too. Their cupcakes are always dry! I'd rather see an outpost of Society Bakery at Legacy West than Sprinkles.

True Food Kitchen, Mesero, and the food hall are good additions to Legacy though.

Agreed. Society is good. Sprinkles is not.

Restaurants open and close more due to mgmt skills (its actually very hard to run a successful restaurant) than to anything else and many people will spend up 100% of their income and debt before closing, leaving them ruined.

Restaurants close in Plano regularly - Applebees and Bennigans both have made multiple runs at it and have been unsuccessful and they aren't rebuilding the Corner Bakery that burned down - tells you something about how that store was performing.

Plano has been performing really well the past few years but wait until a recession and you will see who can really make it and who can just ride the wave.

Plano also has an abundance of really cheap commercial real estate and that can help a business get a foothold, but that is also shrinking with the city's recent performance.

If anyone is looking for a good cupcake in Plano, please try sugar rays at Preston & Spring Creek. You will never want sprinkles again.
