We are accepted at both St. Monica and St. Rita for preK in the fall (2018-2019) and would love to hear about both schools. We are Catholic and plan to attend whichever parish we select for school. We have two boys - one starting preK in the fall and one the following year, so we're looking for community/social involvement, good education and extracurricular activities (planning to stay through 8th grade). We live in Preston Hollow so either location would work. Looking for any help in differentiating between the two. Thank you!

My friend's family moved to the neighborhood by St Ritas and they have absolutely loved it at the school. Her daughter was just accepted to Ursaline and JPII.

Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it.

Anyone else know about differences between the two schools?
Thank you!

No personal experience but both are excellent schools. You can't go wrong with either. I believe St. Rita has more ties with Jesuit due to proximity.

I don't have any direct experience with either, our kids went to Prince of Peace Catholic in Plano. We do have friends who put 3 through St. Monica and loved it, both boys went on to Jesuit and the daughter to Ursuline.
We have other friends with 2 at St. Rita now. They love it as well, their kids were just accepted Jesuit and Ursuline.

We're moving to the Dallas area as well... one son is going to St. Rita and the other to Jesuit. We made the decision to accept due to local families' recommendations, touring the schools and vicinity. We also considered Cistercian and Mary Immaculate. St. Monica was too far for us logistically.

I am wondering this same question. We have boys at Lamplighter now, which we love but it is super expensive. We are debating switching them to a catholic school eventually and then hopefully Jesuit. I have heard St. Monica has more diversity which I would like, but other than that I don’t know the differences. Would love to hear more input!
