Price is an issue, safety is an issue, size is not. I'm pretty handy so cosmetic repairs are acceptable or even non-cosmetic as long as the cost isn't overbearing. Again we need this to be 125k or less, preferable around 100k. Thanks!
I sell homes in the northern burbs, not in that area, but if I had a friend or relative looking there, I would advise them to find the best buyer's agent in Dallas that knows those areas like the back of their hand. Most RE agents know about homes before they are even listed on the MLS. More importanty, they know what they are truly worth...saving you lots of money. There are good agents out there and they are good at what they do. Call up some of the RE agencies (ex:Ebby, Keller Williams, etc) that have listings in those areas. Tell them you want their number 1 buyer's rep for those areas. Do your research and when your find a great buyer's rep. -and they save you $$- you will be a happy camper. PS- buyer's reps do not cost you a cen!!

Thanks for the response everyone. I'm actually very interested in the North oak cliff area but I'm afraid I'm getting in over my head. Anyone know anything about the kings highway historical district?

The city and private developers are spending a lot of money in that area. They have been tearing down a lot of old apartments to make way for new mixed use places. There won't be much under 125k. There is one on Edgefield and one on N. Tyler, but that is about it. In fact, both of those are probably just outside the historic district. Here is a link that may help you get an ideal for what is going on in the immediate area.
