What seems silly to me is people seem to think the options are either Texas Weather or shoveling feet on feet of snow like they get in the upper midwest or north east. I mean neither are ideal. It isn't like once you cross the red river you suddenly have to shovel snow for 6 months of the year lol.

Like I've maybe had to shovel snow like maybe 10 times in my life. You rarely need to shovel snow in most of the western states.

Realistically your options aren't Houston vs Buffalo, neither of which have good weather half the year. Having the 2nd worst weather doesn't mean you have good weather.

I'm going to be in your area this week. I need to escape this heat wave in Phoenix.

No worries, I'll gladly give her a new outlook on things

The niceness is sort of a given with those specific areas you mention, which are either all islands/peninsulas, or, in the case of Mexico City, highly elevated. But the alleviating factors I've described still manifest even in the "not so nice" types of tropical, affording great equability and productivity regardless.

Of course, I specifically mentioned that in my post.

Not nearly as silly as your strawman here, which is quite egregious since people are speaking with an OP known to be from California.

Right. Well, most people who live in Texas DON'T live in Houston for starters.

And most people who live in Texas also don't believe that Texas has "the 2nd worst weather," whatever that means.

Most people I know don't like August and September in Texas but otherwise really like living here. I hope that most people living ANYWHERE love the weather ten months out of the year and also really like where they live in general.

Clearly I was being hyperbolic...the point being the opinions aren't feet and feet of snow, Texas heat and California. There are many places that while they don't have California weather, have nicer weather than either Texas or the North East. Less extreme seasons. (upper south, lower midwest, Appalachia, and many parts of the west depending on elevation)

I don't think I know anyone (in real life) that lives here who loves the weather 10 months out of the year...

I mean the weather in July isn't any different than September...I would argue we have oppressive heat (most years) from June though the middle of October, while our nice summer weather (when it feels good being outside, but it is defiantly consistently still hot/warm enough to swim) is Mid April though May and Mid October though Mid November.

I mean I've been here 10 years, so of course it isn't a deal breaker for me...I love alot of things about Texas, but I do spend alot more time indoors in Texas than I would like to.....going to the pool or lake defiantly helps, I've certainly done more of that this year than any and have the tan to show for it

I miss the summer nights in Dallas which were pleasant relative to the days. In Houston, its just as miserable at 9 pm as it is at 3 pm.

LOL no need, I gave her a list of the things I like about Houston. I've been pretty outspoken on this forum on what I like about Htown.
