I used to live in Chicago (so, not Naperville - can't comment on that specifically) but any Dallas suburb is going to feel completely different than Chicago. Chicago has an amazing downtown, full of giant, historical buildings and lots of people. Dallas... tries.

Frisco itself is very much a cookie-cutter suburb with a lot of chain restaurants/stores. This may be an unpopular opinion, but it doesn't have the soul that Chicago did. It's hard to have a lot of soul without history (Frisco has grown primarily in the last 20 years). I'm sure the schools are good, though.

That being said, I hate the cold, so am very happy to have ended up here. It just depends what you're looking for!

Lol I was in chicago twice in late fall and mid winter. DT both times. It sure felt different didn't know a city could have soul wouldn't have described it that way. More like a super new clean version of NYC. Damn it was cold though and I like cold weather too but that was on a whole other level from Pittsburgh to NYC.

Welcome to DFW bring some of that soul and anythi g you want with you.

Frisco is a lot newer than Naperville and there is still constant growth. Chose your location carefully if you chose Frisco. All the high schools are good, but they all have somewhat different cultures. Also, Frisco tends to rezone frequently and add new schools. I'm sure you don't want to move and then have your kid make friends and have to switch schools. Prosper to the North is another good option (but same growing pains). I found a sports Twitter account that covers a lot of school rezoning updates. Here is a tweet about Frisco.

Agree on Frisco having no soul (or, I know what people mean when they say that). Mostly that houses are cookie-cutter, very similar, often oversized vs the lot it sits on, and few trees around. So just less established. And of course, not ALL of Frisco is like that.

I've even struggled to find a place in Dallas that makes a *GOOD* and *AUTHENTIC* Chicago-style pizza.

There is Gino's East in Arlington, but that's far and not really in Dallas or on the Dallas side of the Metroplex

Due to Covid, they aren't serving hot sandwiches. Just cold. Still worth a look and to get sausage though.

I'm in the same precise situation: in Naperville contemplating a move to the Dallas metro. I lived in DFW from 1992 through 2002, though. Some of my motivations are probably different, though.
