Well, this is the quietest this board has ever been on the Friday afternoon before Spring Break. It was finally our family’s turn to wait for 4pm this year.

Applied to 3 “tier 1/tier 2” schools for PK. Got accepted to our first choice which is wonderful because it’s only acceptance we got. 2 waitpools including a somewhat shocking wait pool from a “safety” school. I won’t be saying which ones because of the very small number of new students at each school and my fairly active participation on this public forum.

All of the decision letters mentioned “record breaking” applications, an “unconventional and competitive year”, “incredibly difficult decisions”, etc.

Hope that other families on here are celebrating good news this afternoon!

Feeling a bit disappointed at the moment. This was our first turn applying to any private schools for our kiddo(PK level). Waitlisted at our top choice, and I feel like...we put SO much effort into that one and kid had great CATS results. I know PK is the ”easiest” opportunity in terms of stats, so it feels like that option just likely wont work out for us.

However, I am pleased that the only other application we made was accepted. So, we will be signing on to our ”back-up” option. Given the fact that this could have resulted in 2 rejections, I suppose overall it's a relief.

It was our first go-round with this process. We applied with no connections or otherwise “leg up” other than a kid that’s incredibly sweet and relatively advanced to four 3 y/o programs. We were declined at Alcuin and waitlisted at ESD, LL, and Parish. I’ll be honest… felt shocked we weren’t admitted at Parish at least. Almost like it was a mistake. Then again, at every single tour we heard what seemed like half the parents saying they were alumni, had a sibling in the school already, or had a parent on staff. Felt a little rigged against us this year.

Anyway, not holding out much hope for a WL admit but also not real excited to go through the process again in a year.

The 3 year old programs are tough. So very few spot available and most do seem to go to siblings. A good friend was WL at ESD Beginner last year but got in this year to PK4. You’ll definitely have a leg up next year for PK4 just having been through it all before - and also additional schools to visit and consider.

We applied two kiddos this cycle. Older one got into our top choice, St. Mark's. The younger one was WL at our top choice, but admitted into our 2nd choice. So proud of them both!

Got waitlisted at Greenhill which was our top choice so a bit disappointed. Not feeling too optimistic of getting off the waitlist. Anyways, congrats to those who got acceptances.
