TailoredMaid, thanks!

By the way, from Debbie's Buckets and Bows website, she looks to have a great company. However, she doesnt seem to offer some of the services that we need around laundry, dishes, etc. We definitely want a deep cleaning of our house once a week or so... but we also need some day to day help with typical household chores... that is where I know from previous experience that most maid services dont offer it...

My service is a maid service versus a cleaning service. You are correct in saying that maid services, though more catered than a cleaning service, would not be able to accommodate some of the tasks you need done on a consistent basis.

The best pool of workers I have found are the college students. That's why I recommend going to a local college and advertising there. See if that helps!

You may wan to put your own add on Craigslist. It's very discreet and you can make up your own job description.

checking references is the most difficult aspect of hiring anyone to work in your home---
if you have a church I would suggest asking there about teens/young adults that might be looking for summer work

or older woman might be interested if the pay is right...
this craigslist ad if for someone looking for work in Plano--but seems like what you are looking for
Housekeeper Looking To Work 3 Days A week For One Family (broken link)

you might also consider mentioning a gas stipend--I think it unlikely that the person you hire would LIVE in Southlake--commuting from areas outside seems much more likely...

Post your inquiry on the Ft Worth board as well. Southlake is more of a suburb of Ft Worth, rather than Dallas.

thanks for all the suggestions... I did post on the Ft. Worth board back at the same time I posted on this one... lots of activity here, nothing there. I also put a personal ad in Craig's List. We'll see what happens. Thanks again.
