He certainly doesn’t think any of these monies would go to support a quality education like Hockaday or St Marks offers

We had friend who lived in Alerio and had her sons go to a private-church related school there
She found out only after a year that some of the classes did not meet credential requirements from the state so her sons were just treading water vs moving forward—probably going backwards from what they have achieved academically…

You have your opinion
I have mine
I just know the political party that is working to subvert public education with religious indoctrination is the GOP

You mean the public schools system that is nominally by far and away the most expensive in the world and relative to GDP the second, possibly 3rd most expensive in the world, while our kids are being smoked by peers into 22nd place per the PISA tests?

FE - Japan/Finland and others spend far less per student and enjoy better outcomes.

As she began to sink by the head even the band had to jump off the Titanic.

Look I get the cheerleading but as stated, I have no dog in this fight. We can agree to disagree. I proved my point. You're either trying to level the playing field or you are not. Clearly Abbott is not. Have a nice day.

Listen you proved literally nothing in great part because you proffered a false test. Demanding that vouchers cover 100% of tuition amounts per our most expensive privates demonstrates bad logic. I’m generally for vouchers if the bill set out $35 or 40k as the per pupil annual amount I’d be against that.

I get it, you like to argue.

Do Japan, Finland, and others achieve this by making public education dollars available for private education?

I don’t actually know the answer to that question. I would wonder why we don’t look at what succeeds elsewhere and see what can be implemented here.

If you can, I'd like to see these figures. I have a feeling all the money that is spent on extracurricular activities like football and insanely priced local football stadiums that rival the NFL are included in any metric that includes expense per student for this country.

It think your question has it backwards. If our K-12 better mirrored say Finland’s in terms of aggregated outcomes there would be little call for vouchers.

But overall the Catholic Church doesn’t favor women in power—

Just wait and see if this bill passes how evangelical churches start to open schools that are not academically strong, w/teachers who might have a college degree but teach a religious truth vs academic truth
It is going to kill this state’s past rating for decent public schools if enough people pull their kids from public schools and use this pass-through to fund religious schools

You think the ACT and SAT stats are falling now—just wait

Do you think that vouchers will somehow inspire public schools to "compete" and get better outcomes? It seems to me that we should be putting the effort/dollars into implementing improvements in the public schools. You mentioned things that could have been improved with your experience, I'm sure many would share other ideas.

Finland’s schools don’t offer a religious slant to education
I think you are confusing what the desired outcome of this new support funding is supposed to accomplish
