It was all in the, "Statement Of Facts", if you have such a thing.
That’s infuriating.

It is, and what's worse, is that they closed the claim, because they couldn't find the driver. The police had his van, because he actually got out and ran off.

I had uninsured driver protection, but, since the insurance company couldn't prove he wasn't insured, even though the van wasn't legally on the road at the time, somehow, then he had to be insured.

The insurance company suggested I made another claim, a false claim, accepting myself to be to blame.

These are bad people.

I also had legal cover, but this turns out to be nothing more than an introduction to a legal firm, and the conditions are that you agree to be responsible for all costs, for both sides, if they cant get them back from the one you're claiming from. I couldn't agree to that, which turned out to be the correct decision, when you see how the insurance company dealt with things on their side.

This is in the UK, but I just thought I'd say how it can work, in case such things are done elsewhere.

Liberty Mutual is a greedy company in Texas. They wanted to raise me 50% with no claims. Looking at State Farm and others. So tired of their greed. Texas seems like a very expensive place to live, considering all the throwaway costs we have.

I've been with Allstate for 6 years, and at my most recent renewal they quoted me a 56% increase. I switched to State Farm, and now I'm only up 33% over what I paid last term. No claims.

Auto up 20% home up 100% at renewal. Shopped around, all the same more or less. No claims ever. But I did get a $20 check from Auto during covid as a refund for not driving.... Too bad it has more than doubled overall since 2020.

I'm currently flipping out about my insurance increase too, also with Liberty Mutual. So much for loyalty, we've been with them since 2014 and have only made one house claim for hail. In 2023 our home policy went up by 53%. I should have shopped around then. I just got the 2024 renewal and it's gone up another 38%. That's an increase of 114% in two years!! Our auto went up *only* 26% this year. We have a 1% deductible and may have to go to 2 to get the price down.

I have a broker who is currently shopping around for me. She said I should be glad I'm not in Collin County because a lot of companies are refusing to write new business there.

That's interesting. Did she happen to tell you why? I can't think of anything that would make losses in Collin County any different than surrounding counties.

My auto is up 15% in Collin County. I haven't gotten my home insurance rate for 2025 yet, but my overall escrow actually went down this year, so if it does go up, it'll basically get me back to last year's payment.
