We may be locating to the Dallas area in a year or so. We have an autistic son and are interested in Plano mainly because of the schools. We are in Oklahoma. We have a 3700 sqft home that here is worth probably around $300K. We actually would like a little smaller home...maybe 2700 sqft in Plano. Any ideas of what something like that would cost...approximate? Doesn't have to be a new home...the one we are in is 25 years old...just want something in a nice neighborhood with a yard. Just trying to get some ideas of where to start looking also...

Thank you.

are you still wanting to spend the 300K for the smaller house?

within the district there can be specific schools that are assigned specific special needs--you might check with Plano and find out what that situation is--
while your son probably has the option to have door-to-door transportation, I don't know if you would use it and prefer to carpool--therefore you might like to live close to school where he would be assigned...

No, I don't really want to spend the same money for a smaller house...I'm just wondering if the market is comparable to ours. We'd really like to spend closer to $200K or even a bit less if it's possible.

Thanks for the advice about the schools. I will check to see which would be best for our son.
