Does any of the Goodwills or Salavation Army in Dallas or Garland sell used appliances? I'm having no luck on craiglist, there all bought. The so call "used" appliance stores cost just as much as the store.

Thanks

There are a few used appliance stores around the area. Might try looking in the phone book. I don't know if the Goodwill Store sells them or not (it is located on Shiloh just north of Belt Line). You might also try calling out to North Texas Appliance in Rockwall. They sell new appliances and are really great people but they also have a "chip and dent" store. You can find some really good buys on new appliances that might have a scratch on them and still have the warranty. Good luck.

You might also try going to Lowe's, Home Depot, and scratch and dent type places. People will return items for a scratch on the side and you can save a lot! We got our first side-by-side years ago for $300 less because it had a 4 inch scratch near the bottom on the side that was hidden anyway.

There was a NICE big french door fridge out at North Texas Appliance last year. They had put the door handles on the wrong way when they delivered it and when they switched them it left a teeny tiny mark on thd UNDERSIDE where no one would see it. The lady would not take it so they took it back to the store and had it marked down over $1K.

I was driving down I30 this evening and saw a big neon sign for a Goodwill store at the NE corner of 30 and Beltline... same strip where the Habitat store is located. I don't know if it's open or not...

You can also try the Conns clearance store in Mesquite. It's on Town East Blvd across the street from North Mesqute Highschool. The clearance store is right next the regular store and they always have some killer deals. EBay is also a great place to find used appliances. Just click the "closest to you option".

Sears has a brand central outlet near Addison. They had some really good buys there when I visited a few months ago.

I've seen used appliances at Habit for Humanity's store - there are two. One mentioned above at I-30 at Broadway/Beltline in the NE corner. And there's another on Hampton at Commerce or Singleton in the old Goodwill spot. It's hit and miss. One friend got a used stainless Bosch dishwasher a while back.
