Hello,
I was wondering if Castle Hill is a nice place to raise a family. My husband and I are in our late 20's and mid 30's with a 10 month old baby. We currently live in Upstate New York. Please help!
Our budget is $500,000 for a house. If Castle Hill is not a nice place to raise a family, please provide me with some more areas around Dallas that would be a nice area to raise a family and if I can find housing with more than an acre of land in a development.

You won't be able to get 1+ acres in CH in your price range, but you can get a 1/4 to 1/2 acre lot.

Castle Hills is an excellent place to raise a family. However, you aren't going to be able to get an acre lot in an urban or suburban neighborhood in Dallas--it just won't happen. If you want to live 30-60 minutes away from the city, you can, but there isn't anywhere close you can do that without shelling out the money to buy multiple houses and tearing them down.

What other areas do you suggest I look for a little more land then 1/2 acre and how far approx. would the drive be to downtown and to the airport?

Flower Mound would be the closest city where you will find homes on an acre+ in your price range. Very conveniently located to the airport too.

Look in the Roanoke and Argyle areas, too. NWISD has good schools, and the commute to DFW will be easy!

Fairview or Argyle - neither are close drives to downtown or the airport though. You might want to think south of Dallas - Midlothian, Red Oak - if you want a larger lot and slightly quicker access to downtown and the airport.
