Hi Everyone,

I am torn between these two areas to move to. I am a 33 year old single male professional. I want to be in an area with interactions with a younger age group (26-35) but not necessarily a wild party area.

I really would love your opinion which would be better since this is such a big move for me (coming in from Ohio)

Thanks a bunch!

Where will you be working? That will be a big factor in deciding where to live.

well, I am a physician and will be working in flower mound, tx but as long as my commute is around 30 minutes I will be fine, but really would like to live in an area where I can interact with people my age. Thanks!

Las Colinas to Flower Mound will be a much easier and less stressful commute than Addison to Flower Mound.

Addison would be the better location for interacting with young people. But yes the commute would be a bit longer.

Have you considered Uptown in Dallas? It's a less cheesy crowd than Addison or Las Colinas, and plenty of people in your age group (including me!).

It's easy to get on I-35 from Uptown and only about a 20-25 minute reverse commute (against traffic) to Flower Mound.

FloMo is going to be a schlep from either place, but Las Colinas should be easier on you. I also agree with TC80 that Uptown has much more to offer in the way of opportunities for social interaction with your age group. The extra distance might be worth it to you.

If you don't mind the commute, then I would live in Addison. There's a TON more to do in the area, and it's more centrally located to the rest of the metroplex than Las Colinas is.

Personally, I feel that Addison has an older crowd than Uptown does, and don't find it cheesy in any sense of the word. It's a good compromise between distance + fun.

To my knowledge physicans don't work your normal 8-5 shift so Uptown would be my suggestion. The vibe is much better than Las Colina's or Addison in my opinion. It's not a horrible commute if you can avoid rush hour traffic.
