Although some days I wish retirement was close, I'm only 25 so it's still a looooong ways away! How do you like Carrollton?

Hey I am so sorry to get back so late. So many people have already responded and boy what a debate! I live in Mckinney and love it here! The schools are great to get involved with. I love the grading system and the way they teach is wonderful. This was the best school year we ever had this past year. Mckinney is not politically correct which to me is a good thing. Example, when we lived in Duncanville, the best elementary school expelled a little girl in kindergarten for blowing a kiss to boy and called it sexual harrassment. I heard this from the mother of the boy whom recieved the blow kiss. I could not believe this, it seems so far fetched but this happened to her son so it is
true.
I can go more in depth but I won't. If you decide on Mckinney to teach, live in Mckinney or Allen. If you want to work in Lewisville, live in Lewisville. Carrolton/Farmers Branch, from what I have been reading in here, there are only pockets of good areas. Hey if you are single, I know that Addison is good too.
If you need a good church if you move to this part, Your invited to come visit my church! I know what you mean about hunting a good church. For everyone's information, I am a christian and Christ is in the heart and there are many christians in DFW. I find christians here to be the nicest, non judgemental, kind people and most people here are church people.
I also love this area because their is no judgement or disrespect amongst people of different denominations. That is why I have always loved this area, it is a far cry from where I lived where demoniations were pitted against each other. PM if you ever want to talk privately.

jess6275, most any location mentioned in this thread would have a suitable school district, including Waco. You probly need to decide if you want to come to Dallas first then land the teaching job or have the job in hand then relocate to find a preferred place to live.

Your price range may limit your options but like they say... location, location, location. You may want to live nearer to downtown, or Addison, and drive outbound to school. Or live and teach in McKinney, or Arlington. Options you may want to prioritize on you way to the future.

DFW is a big place, commuting is not always a direct route.
