Got a job in Grand Prairie off the east side of 360 on 303. I am looking at houses, but I'm starting to think more about apartments now.

Where should I start to look at apartments? Would Las Colinas around Lake Carolyn be too far? What about Uptown? I'm looking to get something in the 800-1200 range. Just a one bed or a studio/loft is fine.

Trying to figure out what is best for me. I'm straight out of college, 22 years old. I really want to keep my commute under 30 minutes. I have a feeling I'm going to have a hard time doing that though. Anyway. If ya'll could give me some suggestions I'd really appreciate it.

Should I look in Arlington? Seems like the direct areas around Grand Prairie are run down/seem unsafe. Is that off base?

I've combed this site and looked on others, but I guess I'm hoping I can get an answer tailored to me.

Thanks.

Matt

I'd look at Uptown if I were you. I don't think it will take you more than 30 minutes to commute to Grand Prairie. It's not that far and you would be going against all the traffic heading downtown.

Okay, good to know that Uptown is not completely out of the question in terms of commuting.

Are there any places I should be sure to check out. It seems awfully hard to find a good apartment search engine online. Anyone know a good one? Specifically for the Dallas area? Or is it best to just buy one of those apartment guides from a local shop?

Also, I'm not a huge partier/social bug. I like going out, but it doesn't rule my life, I like to have queit evenings the majority of the time. So being in the thick of it isn't necessarily a requirement.

Ya'lls responses are really helpful. Thanks guys!

The nicest parts of Grand Praire are located south of I-20. If I were single I think I would chose the Uptown area since I would be around alot more people my age. If you want to take a look around Grand Prairie check out the area south were I-20 and 360 cross.

Las Colinas is not bad a drive either. Why don't you use an apartment locator?
