Steak and Shake is the next closet thing.

Others will say Whataburger, but I think they are barely better than McDonalds.

Rumor mill has it that In & Out is coming to Texas soon.

Closest to In-N-Out is Five Guys Burgers, a new chain to Texas. There aren't many around Dallas, closest is at the Galleria....Great fast food burgers and fries.

If you want non-fast food burgers there are plenty of excellent options like the previous poster pointed out

You could go back to California.

Seriously, we have tons of good burger places here that another poster listed. Pick one and enjoy your time in Texas.

Yes, I know...coincidentally, they are in states with large populations of former Californians. I'm sure it is only a matter of time before the CA economic refugees get their way and get one here in Dallas, even though the last thing one of America's fattest cities needs is yet another burger joint.

I honestly doubt In and Out will come, since they don't own a freezer and Texas is a long ways from their food plant.
