We woke up to 3-4 inches of snow in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

It is bodacious and still coming down.

It's cold enough here for snow ... but not a cloud in the sky.
Boo. If it was cloudy, it'd be warmer :-)

We went several years without snow. I really missed it after years in Kansas, NY, Ohio, Montana, PA and a year in Chicago (and Hawaii but that one does not count when we're talking about snow). So, when it snows I'm really excited....particularly so since I've retired. It's great to know that I can watch the snow out the window while I read and drink hot tea and I don't have to go any place at all. The two cats, Stella and Annie don't give a flip. Right now they are stacking Zs on my bed.

All three of us are horribly spoiled.

I wish I was retired. I would love not having to leave my house unless I wanted to.

It's cold in Orlando too. This afternoon it was in the high 40's (currently 52). It is going to rain tomorrow, so it should warm up a bit tonight. Nothing like it being cold AND wet.

I wonder what is going on with the WalMart Freebies? They used to have several a month and I really haven't seen anything for the past month other than the allergy site. Guess the economy is keeping lots of companies from offering lots of free samples.

Anyone have any special Valentine plans? I'm thinking about taking my grandson to the county fair....but haven't totally committed to that yet. Depends on the weather.

Gandalara.....
GREAT PIC!!!! You must be so proud! We will be here to do the monthly countdown with you until she gets home so the time feels like it is passing faster. How long will she be able to stay?

It looks like she is holding one of those strong Belgian beers that I always hear about.....

Ah, the Diamond capitol.....I had forgotten about that.......

How did she ever get a job way over there? I'm glad she's employed.....it sounds like a good one.

We are getting some sun for a change and no rain in sight for a few days...man, we are saturated and need to dry out....it is supposed to be @ 70 degrees this weekend....I'm on the coast in S. CA so hopefully this weather will move across the states....

She'll be here for 18 days - has to be home for New Years Eve with her Italian boyfriend

Actually, in the picture, she's holding a cranberry and vodka. The picture was taken in Hemet (SoCal)

She's lived in Europe for a long time - she just applied and applied and applied ..... she knew that was what she wanted. And I get lots of Belgium chocolates

I don't nag, but I wish she would work here as a translator (fluent in German, French and Italian). But she likes it there. Sigh.

Oh yes, the weather is grand here in SoCal today - I need to get going to the Big Box Store and buy a new commode!

I hope she brought plenty of warm clothes!! It is sad seeing people at the theme parks who came thinking it was always warm in Florida. Kids always have a fun time though....

I was thinking about either driving over to Disney or the Fair on Sunday....but it will have to warm up an dry up before I attempt either one.
