Hi everyone,
Sandee 1213 already knows most of the spiel which goes but for everyone else, this may sound like a poll to you but it is a big move so I need as much input as I can get.
My husband and I moved with our five year old daughter to DE last year and chose Brennen Estates as our choice of development for renting. I like my job so far(actually love it usually except some off days but what else is new ) and we are probably going to be living in DE for a long time. My daughter is settled in a school that caters to her needs but more importantly we are in touch with wonderful resources that help her achieve her best potential.
Now we wanna buy and I wanna stay in the Appoquinimink SD. I do not wanna compromise because when my DD's needs are not so profound I want her to be in this SD.
This is the first time that we are buying and none of us is from the area. Hubby's from MD and I am from NYC.
I have looked at houses all around us and I really liked Clear Creek and Belden and of course Brennen Estates.
I would just like to know your thoughts on these three developments. They all have the same feeder pattern for Appo, they have houses in around the same price range, the same age houses (except Belden which has some brand new houses). We have a house of our choice in all three of the developments. Some things that I need your honest opinion about are,
1. In terms of selling when the time comes, what would be a more easy sell, Brennen, Belden or Clear Creek(remember this is along Denny Connector Road)?
2. Which one is considered a better community overall in terms of diversity, congeniality, accessibility to local utilities?
3. Would you buy a brand new house in a colony versus an older house which is not exactly the part of a colony but is at a walkable distance or an older house which is at a cul-de-sac? The older house comes with a lot of trimmings (very well kept and in excellent condition).
