We are just warming up here in Rehoboth. This weekend is the sidewalk sale, the Greyhounds reach the beach (kinda of a Dewey activity, this year), the Jazz Fest is 10/11-10/14 and we wrap the month up with Seawitch 10/26 - 10/28.

Farther north, in Kent County, we're doing local, farm type things. The much enjoyed Fifer Fall Festival is going on until after Thanksgiving, and Caesar Rodney's Homecoming week is coming up starting 10/8. It will be a family thing on our front porch Friday night 10/12 to enjoy the Homecoming Parade and lots of food and drink. Love watching the bands, clubs, queens, kings, horses, and young people riding on their homecoming floats. To be sure, they'll be dressed up in ridiculous costumes, and will be chanting "Go C.R." I've polished up my baton twirling routine, just in case anybody asks for more entertainment, or perhaps a teenage baton twirler will not show up to lead the band down the street. I'll be ready.

I used to go to Rehoboth on Greyhound weekend. My friend used to have a place on Camp Arrowhead Rd., and she'd invite people to stay the weekend. She said the craziness of summer had passed and it was now "safe" to visit.

We're here with our greyhounds! Really appreciate the local restaurants and businesses that welcome our hounds.

I was going to dm those on here who asked about Longneckone, but I know others would wonder what happened as well ....sadly, he passed away a few weeks ago. I found out shortly after he passed because my son is friends with his son and they once worked together. I hadn't heard from him in awhile, and I knew something had to be going on with his illness.

Longneckone was a great family man and just a nice soul overall. He did live to be a fairly good age though and lived life to the fullest. May he RIP.....

So sorry to hear that bad news, Liz. He was a family man, for sure....loved watching his son play sports and was very proud of him. I'm so sad that he's gone.

Thanks Liz for the update. He, along with a few of you, made our move so much easier. May he rest in peace. I will remember him in my prayers.
