You are not a Debbie Downer.
I completely agree with you that history will repeat itself again this summer.
It won't be an accident.
It will be a certainty.
I hope I am wrong, but sadly many people's actions will prove us right.

If what we experienced in downtown Rehoboth yesterday is any indication, I agree with your concerns - as well as what we're seeing friends/family doing. There were so many maskless people walking down Rehoboth Avenue or had masks on with them pulled under their chin that I looked online when we came home to see if the town of Rehoboth had ended the mask mandate. At the most, I'd say 20% of the people were wearing masks. Shades of Ocean City, MD (who HAS ended the mask mandate, not that they ever enforced it).

With all we're seeing around the world, the variants and that we have such a large # of people who aren't/won't get vaccinated, it seems premature to be throwing caution to the wind. I know of more people who have gotten Covid in the past two months than in the whole prior year. I also hope I'm wrong, but I don't think this is over by any stretch of the imagination and think we're moving too fast.

We lost 4 souls yesterday.

According to Gov. Carney. The number of cases is at a 6 month low. Delawareans are still far shy from the 70 - 80% vaccinated rate goal. 55% have received one shot and 43% have received both. These numbers are for 16 years of age and up.

Indoors the mask mandate continues but with only 3 feet social distancing between tables and people now - reduced from 6 feet. Outdoors masks are optional except in large crowds.
