I know, lyndyb.....Where's the light at the end of the tunnel? My issue with all of this, is, there's so much conflicting information out there, we don't know what to believe, or what not to believe. Masks, or no masks? It's more of a political thing than it should be. In addition, those in charge, tell us what to do, but don't practice what they preach. I can't talk about this anymore. It's too deep of a subject, and there are so many varied opinions, that it's tearing this country apart.

I had previously posted re: the conference call that Drs. Tam and Chasnoff did regarding the latest info relative to the virus and one thing that was discussed came as a huge surprise to me. Apparently to many others too, as there were several letters to the editors in the Gazette. Beebe, Bay Health and Tidalhealth do not have vaccine mandates, but Christiana Care does.

Dr. Chasnoff said rather than mandates they were offering incentives but he failed to elaborate. While I think the entirety of the health care workers in the county were indeed hero's before the vaccines and still are for that work, I do find the lack of mandate to be surprising. Current regulations on theBeebe website are: If you go to Beebe to visit someone you must present a photo ID, wear a mask, have your temperature taken and answer a series of questions before you are given the pass to wear to visit. If you are accompanying a patient you are asked to wait in the car rather than in a waiting room "to keep everyone safe."

Many places require that proof of vaccination is presented prior to admission. The schools require proof or weekly covid testing and the same for state employees. While I can understand and sympathize with those who choose to not vaccinate, I would think that in order to reduce (I am not saying eliminate) the possibility of further infecting a patient, it would make sense for them to have to be vaccinated or used in a different capacity such as non front line.

This seems only logical to me, but as I said I do understand that those on the other side of this opinion, feel it is more of a loss of personal freedom to make that choice for their bodies.

I don't know I am just sick and tired of all the fighting.

To add to the confusion......Kent County Administration Building (deeds, tax maps, etc.) requires a mask for employees and visitors. Sussex County Court House (deeds, tax maps, etc.) no masks required for anyone. I visit both of those buildings most weeks.

I know, Nuts......I think we're all sick of this. It's reached a boiling point, and people are fed up from trying to do the right thing, and then the people in charge change everything. We're on our own trying to do our best, and what (we think) is right for each of us.

I see the FDA & CDC has finally agreed to include Moderna and J&J for boosters. All that is required is for the head of the CDC to sign off, which she is expected to do quickly. Hopefully this will help a bit, especially with those who got the J&J which is reported to be less effective. Also they are approving being able to cross vaccines. I think we will stick with the Moderna even though I did have some reaction to the second shot. We will be making our appointments soon, hopefully. Got our flu vaccine last week, but will have to wait for the Shingrix....I think 2 weeks after the booster. Then hopefully we are done for awhile!

Maybe the death of Colin Powell due to COVID complications will get through to some people, but probably not.
