My old crown is coming loose and there is a cavity under the crown. My dentist said he will have to make a new porcelain crown once the cavity has been taken care of. And this procedure (cavity and crown) will take about 90min and cost $850.

My insurance (Aetna) will pay for nearly half of it, so the whole procedure will cost me about $450.
FYI, I live in Seattle USA.

I don't ever recall a crown and cavity work (and I have had a few) costing me this much in the past. Maybe because I had better insurance before.

Can anyone tell me if this price seems right?

You're getting a bargain. Most run between $950.00 to $1200.00. I had similar last year and it cost $1150.00 and I paid about $500.00 or there abouts.

I agree that price is on the very low end of the scale in most locations.

50% coverage on crowns is the norm.
