The only thing I know about fluoride is that the 4 people I know who grew up with fluoridated water are in the 50's and have never had a cavity.

Oh, by the way jaminhealth, that's a canker sore. It has nothing to do with fluoride.

I too grew up from birth in fluoridated water in PA, the home of alcoa and mellon, and have a mouthful of dental work. I know the fluoride going into everything from foods to water etc contains lead and other waste. Read some history.

Talk about being raised in "F" water vs non F water. My ex was a farm boy raised with well water which contains naturally occurring "F" from the atmosphere...when I met him in PA, he didn't have a cavity and he was in his early 20's....I had cavaties and raised in public "F" water....it wasn't many years after that he ended up with plenty of dental issues.

You should go see a licensed dentist instead of asking health opinions from strangers on the internet. The misinformation presented by some of the posts here is mind-blowing.

Switching tooth pastes might work for you. Some foaming agents in tooth pastes are known to cause canker sores. Switching worked for me. It's most likely not the fluoride.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS ) | Effects of sodium lauryl sulfate

Don't rule out fluoride. It took me a lot of years to find this history.

Looks like a canker sore. I got one when I used Sensodyne for a bit. I switched to Kiss My Face's equivalent and the sore went away immediately. I also started using a powered toothbrush so that may have attributed, too. Yet with my sore, there was pain.
