The ADA reports that dentist offices are open again May 1. My cleaning is scheduled for May 12. I'm a little nervous with everything going on. Should I cancel or just go? This virus is stressing me out..... If I cancel, I was thinking about rescheduling for June. Thoughts? The receptionist said only 2 patients allowed at a Time and patient will wait in their car until they are called...

You might want to call and discuss this with your dentist office staff.
I had a dental cleaning scheduled June 2, but got an email from the office about a month ago informing me they were canceling cleanings and only handling emergencies for the time being. They said to wait till mid- to the end of April to call about rescheduling. I figured I'd wait till maybe mid-June to call them about rescheduling.
I had mine cleaned today. They are keeping the office locked, so I had to call when I got there, and then they checked my temperature and let me in. Had to use hand sanitizer and then went to the dental chair. Now you have to rinse your mouth with peroxide, before and after the cleaning.
I saw my dentist last week for the first time in months. Had the same experience as southernnaturelover. In my opinion the dentist and hygienist are in a lot more danger than you are, from the the aerosols hitting them. They were fully suited, masked , and shielded at my office but it still must be frightening for them.
I just posted this in the current events forum, sorry to repost here but I'd like more opinions!
I have my 6 month dental appointment on Monday. I called today to see if they were opened yet and they told me they are, all employees are covered head to toe, they won't let more than 3 people in the waiting room at one time, they are taking all the required precautions. I'm still nervous, they said they are getting a lot of calls like mine. They will call tomorrow to ask me questions to determine if I can come in.
I'm older (64) but healthy. I'm in Miami where there are quite a few cases and deaths.
I'm taking a poll, should I go in or should I postpone for awhile? Thanks!
